Programs

The Snow Leopard Conservancy (SLC) helps local people live peacefully with snow leopards and teaches them how to protect these animals. SLC creates income-generating projects, such as homestays for tourists and eco-tourism programs. To support local herders, SLC builds strong enclosures to keep predators away from livestock and offers conservation education and training for children in the Himalayas.

SLC also studies snow leopards to learn more about their behaviors and habitat needs. Researchers use tools like remote camera traps, DNA collected from animal droppings, and GPS collars to track movements. They analyze animal movement paths to identify areas important for conservation efforts.
